Intended to be an improvement over the original conversion to OBJ. All material differentiation is by grouping - there is no map included.
The materials seen in the preview are a "serving suggestion" only, as they will not transfer with the model. However, the model should import with its material grouping intact. It should be a reasonably simple matter to apply appropriate materials to each group to get a similar result as the picture.

It was all very random actually. Every component part was the result of me just pushing and pulling on geometry until I got some result the pleased me, and then all the components were jammed together into the giant mess that you see here.
