I'm "back on the horse" with the tabletop game.

Passage OBJ by dmaland
Passage OBJ
Sometimes you need a big airlock!

Using the door section takes some care. Without modification, the center hub can collide with the internal passageway's geometry. Also, there can be a very obvious gap between the outer and inner areas.

Wall Section OBJ by dmaland
Wall Section OBJ
This is another item that I built for Mission Backup Earth. Geometrically, it's far more lightweight than its predecessor, and so should be much easier to duplicate when creating larger sets.

Hullplate Test Sculpt OBJ by dmaland
Hullplate Test Sculpt OBJ
This was an attempt at a prop for Mission Backup Earth. It didn't quite turn into what was needed, but it's still useful. Please be aware that the model is about 1 million polygons.

My sincere hope is that giant, leathery, moths made of snakes are NOT being cooked up for real.

Hi All.

I feel a bit self-conscious posting this here, because I've let this account "slip" a bit. I'm not nearly as active on DA as I used to be, mostly because other things have chewed up a lot of time.

Even so, I do have this latent desire to carve out some more "visual art" space in my life.

Anyway.

When it all comes down to it, whenever I've done something that I felt was worthwhile, what it all came down to was helping other people create their own art. The whole "commercial success" thing - prints, commissions, etc - has never gone my way. So, instead of pursuing that route some more, I figured I'd take a stab at the "patronage" model. It's only fair to say that I've lumped everything that I do into one campaign, so supporting me means supporting material that's about the musical arts as well as the visual ones. Maybe the tolerating of that is a lot to ask for, or maybe it isn't.

I don't know.

In any case, if you have any interest in supporting my quest to "make it economically viable to create free resources for people," then my campaign is here: www.patreon.com/danielmaland
